Puisque nous ne pouvons plus acheter de la nourriture emballée, la meilleure place pour commencer serait le marché. On est allé au marché Jean-Talon avec des sacs réutilisables et des contenants pour mettre la nourriture que nous allions acheter. Les fruits et légumes étaient facile à trouver sans emballage mais j’ai remarqué que je devais toujours agir rapidement et montrer mon sac réutilisable sinon je me retrouverais vite avec des sacs en plastique que je devais alors leur remettre. Je dirais que la majorité des gens semble amener leurs sacs réutilisables avec eux mais l’utilise pour transporter leur nourriture qui a été mis dans un sac en plastique. Même moi au début, je me sentais bizarre de tout mélanger dans le même sac (carottes, pois, patates…) mais ce n’est pas vraiment si compliqué que ça de tout séparer rendu à la maison.
J’étais aussi très heureuse de voir des fermiers qui vendaient leurs oeufs dans des cartons qu’ils allaient reprendre la prochaine fois. Ceci était une chose dont je n’étais pas certaine qu’on allait trouver aussi facilement. C’est quand même preque impossible d’acheter des oeufs sans emballage mais au moins il est réutilisable.
Nous avons aussi acheté des saucisses chez William J Walter saucissier et l’employé était très heureux de nous servir en mettant les saucisses dans notre propre contenant. Il a même pesé notre contenant avant pour ne pas qu’on le paye en poids. Nous allons retourner là très souvent!
Maintenant le gros problème qui nous reste à résoudre… mon lait. Je suis en train de boire mon dernier carton de lait et après qu’il soit fini, je n’aurais plus de lait à moins d’en trouver dans un contenant réutilisable (en vitre). J’ai demandé à une fromagerie qui vend son propre lait dans des contenants de plastiques et la réponse que j’ai eu n’étais pas très encourageante. Après avoir pratiquement rit de moi en me suggérant de m’acheter une vache, on m’a dit que ce n’étais plus possible de trouver des bouteilles de vitre pour le lait. Je suis tellement découragé! Ce n’est pas que je bois beaucoup de lait mais j’aime mon café le matin et je dois avoir du lait dedans.
La recherche continue car je suis convaincu que ça se trouve quelque part…
